Color Throwdown #216

swatch 216
Hey everyone, it’s Wednesday again so that means it’s time for another Color Throwdown challenge!  We’re up to challenge #216 and Kerri is our hostess this week.  She picked these great contrasting colors for us to use… I had my doubts at first (I’m SO not a fan of blues…) but I ended up loving my card.  So don’t be intimidated and give this one a try!
CTD216
I misplaced my Copic color chart a few days ago, and in the process of hunting for it I came across this Whipper Snapper image that I think I must have colored last year and never used.  With those vibrant orange pumpkins, I thought it’d be perfect for my card for today, paired up with a few October Afternoon papers.  I also found a past Mojo Monday sketch (#261) laying on my desk and was inspired by it for the layout.

Be sure to visit my Throwdown sisters for more inspiration this week…

Flourishes Forest of Trees

The girls on the Flourishes Design Team were all playing with the Forest of Trees stamp set last week, and I actually made this card in addition to the four seasons one I shared with you the other day.  Just thought I’d share this with you today… it makes for a quick and easy Christmas card.
FLLC102612
I stamped my trees on Flourishes Classic White cardstock with Forest Moss distress ink.  My red cardstock base and the beautiful red seam binding are both from the Poppy Color Made Easy collection, and I embellished with some red Kaisercraft rhinestones and the sentiment from last year’s Sentimental Christmas stamp set.
On the inside, I added another tree and sentiment from Sentimental Christmas set.
FLLC102612b
If you mass-produce your Christmas cards, this would be a good one to try!  And I LOVE seam binding to embellish my cards because it’s not as bulky as ribbon, so it’s not as costly to mail the card.
Happy stamping!

Make Art Blog Hop Featuring Studio 490

makeartbutton
Hi everyone and welcome to our Make Art blog hop featuring art from the eclectic Paperie eTeam and special guest, Wendy Vecchi! We're delighted to have Wendy joining us today, to not only share her products but also to share in her unique artistic style and to be inspired by each of the hop participants.

During the hop the team is going to be sharing the projects that they created with Studio 490 products but maybe more importantly we'll be sharing our experience of working with the products, how we created our projects, and what inspired us to create our piece.

The eTeam is a wonderful group of talented women, each with their own style. Some of us are clean and simple card makers, others love scrapbooking, and still others are drawn to altered art and mixed media projects. The goal of our hop is bring each of these designers and their favorite mediums together and to share how we've used these products to express our own individual styles through our work.
But...that's not all...eclectic Paperie is also offering a few specials during our hop.
  • This week only save 25% on all Studio 490 products, this includes Wendy's stamps, stencils, Art Parts, Book, and Blossom Bucket embellishments. Use code WENDY25 when checking out.
  • During the hop, comment on each blog and you'll be entered into a drawing for a prize package worth $50! Your package will include a collection of Studio 490 products as well as paper and embellishments from the store.
Wait...there's more!
  • We want to hear about what inspires you! Share your thoughts about why you create, what styles you're drawn to, even share a favorite project on our Facebook page. Next week we'll randomly select a winner from those who have commented on our Make Art Facebook posts and give away a $25 gift certificate to eP! Now...are you ready for some crafty goodness? Let's get hopping!

Thank you so much for joining us and make some time this week to create art and craft your story...

Now, here’s a snippet of my project with a little bit about how it came together!

eP103012-cropped

I started out with Wendy’s Studio 490 Art Parts “Florals”, but I decided I wanted a nice vibrant color on mine so I prepped by coating the pieces with some Snow Cap White Adirondack Acrylic Paint so they’d have a white base.  See…
002

Then, using some blending foam, I colored my flowers with Wild Honey, Peeled Paint and Walnut Stain distress ink.  I sprinkled the center of each flower with some glitter for a little bling and dimension.

eP103012

This white frame was in my stash of alterables, and I used an Idea-ology Sanding Block to distress the white finish, then painted on some Sail Boat Blue Adirondack Paint from the dabber, let it dry a little bit, wiped most of it off with some paper towels then swiped on some Tea Dye ink for instant aging.  Then I moved on to my focal image, this great sentiment from an old Tim Holtz Stampers’ Anonymous stamp set… as soon as I saw what this says, I knew it had to be a part of my project for today because I was SO stumped as to what I was going to do!  (This particular set isn’t in the eP store, but if you like it you can always drop an email to Kim to see about getting it… this one is called Urban Tapestry.)  The flourish stamped on the upper left corner is from another Stampers’ Anonymous set called Nature’s Discovery.  I sponged some Antique Linen ink around the edges of my focal piece, and used a Mini Basket Weave template from The Crafter’s Workshop on the lower left corner with some Tea Dye ink for added interest.  To finish up my piece, I used some papers from the new Farmhouse Paper Company “Market Square” paper pad, some crocheted lace, and a few Maya Road Vintage Leaf stick pins.

If you can’t clearly read the sentiment, it says… “The creative is the place where no one else has ever been.  You have to leave the city of your comfort and venture into the wilderness of your intuition.  You can’t get there any other way, only by taking risks and by not quite knowing what you’re doing… what you’ll discover will be wonderful, what you’ll discover will be yourself.”  I thought that was REALLY appropriate since I was having a lot of trouble getting started on this project!  :)

Hope you enjoy this hop today!  Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Flourishes Friday in a Forest of Trees

Free-for-All-Friday-550x242
It’s Flourishes Friday once again, and today finds the Sr. Design team focusing on an oldie but a goodie stamp set, the Forest of Trees.  This set has been around for quite awhile, but is one of those sets with classic versatile images you can use time and time again.  For my card today, I chose a seasonal theme…

FLLC102612 part 2
I used some old Tombow markers to ink up three different trees from the set, starting with a budding Spring tree, then a vibrant green tree in Summer, followed by a leaves-turning-colors Autumn tree, and finally a pine tree for Winter.  This sentiment from the Life Lines stamp set was a perfect addition to my trees.  I stamped everything on Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock, then distressed the edges and sponged on some Antique Linen distress ink.  My cardstock layer and base are both from the Rich Browns Color Made Easy collection, and I embellished with some chocolate Kaisercraft pearls.
ColorMadeEasyRichBrowns copy
On the inside I added another tree from the Forest of Trees set, and the “miss you” sentiment from the new Sentimental Favorites stamp set.

Be sure to stop and see all the Sr. Designers today to see what they’re doing with the Forest of Trees stamp set, too…

Color Throwdown #215

swatch 215
We’re feelin’ a little Halloweenie this week on the Color Throwdown team, so Lori has the perfect color combo for you to use!  Check out those kooky cupcake monsters!  They’re just perfect for inspiration this week!  Be sure to stop over at the CTD blog for all the challenge details, and play along!

I decided to go with a Halloween theme for my card this week, using Witchy Wryn from Tiddly Inks!

CTD215

I just adore Wryn… she’s so cute and fun to color!  These colors immediately made me think of this old Basic Grey “Eerie” paper I still have on hand to use on my card and I embellished with some rhinestone-like stars.  The Retro Sketch #34 for this week was great inspiration for my layout, too.

More Stamps for Sale

In the process of hunting for some craft supplies this weekend, I ran across a box of stamps I don't use or need anymore, so the FOR SALE page just got bigger!  The new additions are below the photos of the wood-mounted stamps.  Enjoy!
*********

I have the following stamps currently for sale!  Prices do not include shipping.  Please email me (tammyhershberger at gmail dot com) with what you want, and we can discuss shipping.  In most cases, my preference will be to use Priority Mail.  Shipping could take as much as a week due to my work schedule, so please be patient.  Payment is Paypal by credit card only... please, NO eChecks!

Sorry, US shipping only!

I update this listing as often as I can and will put your name beside the stamp set you requested.  If you asked for a stamp or stamp set and see someone else's name beside it, I'm sorry but it means that they beat you to it.

The wood-mounted stamps in the photos below are grouped according to price, and each photo has been given a letter.  If you are interested in any of these, please email me with the photo letter, and then the stamp number.  A quick description of the stamp would also be helpful to avoid any confusion.  Most of these stamps are either barely used or never used.  Any questions regarding condition, brand, etc. don't hesitate to ask via email.  Click on any of the photos for a close-up!  Any photos with a name in red means they are already sold.

Start each day….

… with “whee”!  Good advice, right?  :)

I don’t know why… maybe the swings were always my favorite part of the playground as a child, but I have always been partial to stamps that have a swing-theme.  So this Pure Innocence set from My Favorite Things was begging to be used the other day.  I pulled out some new “Persnickety” paper from Lilybee Designs, and used sketch #94 for this week from MFT for the layout.  I used the Flat-Bottom Clouds, Mini Tabs Foursome and Fishtail Flags STAX Die-Namics for my design, too.

U Made My Day!

Free-for-All-Friday-550x242
It’s Free for All Friday with Flourishes, and since last week was a release week, today you’ll find the Sr. Designers sharing creations made with the newly released stamps.  Be sure to hop around to all the blogs linked down below for all the great designs!

Here’s my creation for today… a little play on words!

FLLC101912

I was just staring at the Sentimental Favorites stamp set the other day, ya’ know just really reading the individual sentiments and a little light bulb went on over my head!  So I turned on my Silhouette Cameo, searched the Silhouette Online store and found this collection of letters to use for my card today, along with this sentiment.  The papers on my card are from the Bo Bunny “Serenity” collection in the Flourishes online store, and I embellished my card with some May Arts Ivory twill ribbon, a crystal trinket pin, and some black Kaisercraft rhinestones

Stop and see the other Sr. Design team members today for more newly-released inspiration…

Happy Friday, and happy stamping!

Let Us Give Thanks… with Wplus9

I got a box full of GREAT goodies from eclectic Paperie earlier this week, and just couldn’t wait to create something with these new stamps and dies from Wplus9 Design Studio!  Take a peek at this…
.
eP101812

This is the Pretty Patches Pumpkin stamp set, and I used the matching Pumpkin die to cut it out.  The pumpkin is stamped wtih Ranger Spiced Marmalade distress ink, and the little leaf with Aged Mahogany.  The papers I used here for the fence and background are from the new Autumn Spice paper pad from Lilybee Designs.  For the layout of my card, I was inspired by the Retro Sketch #33 for this week, flipped upside down.

eP101812 inside

On the inside, I stamped the Pretty Patches Pumpkin again, adding the heart to the center and the sentiment from the set.

Color Throwdown #214

swatch 214

We’re up to Color Throwdown #214 this week and Joan is our gorgeous hostess with the most-est!  She found these lovely sunflower bouquets to inspire us this week with these colors.  If you like ‘em too, why not stop over at the CTD blog for all the challenge details, and play along!

CTD214

I was SO inspired by the sunflowers that I decided to pull out my purty Sunflowers stamp set from Flourishes for today’s challenge, and used the iSpy sketch #37 for this week as inspiration for the layout.  I stamped the sunflower in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Flourishes Classic White cardstock, also using it for the card base.  I colored with Copics from the Sunflower, Evergreen and Flesh Tones 2 collections from Flourishes.  I accented with a sentiment flag with a button, and a white twill bow.

You’ve Come a Long Way

I made this card several weeks ago for the Color Throwdown challenge, and the next day got an email from a customer… “my daughter loves giraffes, she loves yellow, her birthday is coming… could you make me a card for her?”  Well, how could I say no especially when it gives me another chance to use this darling image?  :)
MFTGUESTDT1012
This sweet Giraffe Girl Pure Innocence image from My Favorite Things definitely ranks high on my list of ca-uuuute stamps!  I decided to pair the yellow with a little green for this design, and found this yellow measuring tape-like paper in the Echo Park “For the Record 2” paper pad to be a great addition to my design.  (I love the play on coming a “long way” paired with the long neck of the giraffe and the measurements!)  The layout I used for the card is from this months guest designer sketch challenge for My Favorite Things.  I used several Die-Namics for my design, too… the Rounded Banner STAX, Fresh Cut Grass, Little Open Scallop Strip and Flat-Bottom Clouds
And here’s how I did up the inside…
MFTGUESTDT1012 inside
I hope my customer loves the card as much as I do… I almost don’t want to part with it!  LOL  (And I hope MFT loves it enough, too!)

Thanks so much for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Apples for a Sweet Friend

I had a customer recently request a card with apples I had listed for sale on my blog, and here I had sold it already and forgot to take it down!  So I contacted the customer and offered to make another as similar as I could to the original, and she said “just another apple card would be fine…” so this is what I came up with.  I hope she likes it!

eP101312
The apple stamps I used here are from the Apple of My Eye stamp set from Flourishes, and I used their Silhouette Cameo digital cut file to cut the image out before stamping and coloring with Copics from the eclectic Paperie store.  The papers used are Simple Stories “Harvest Lane”… just LOVE this line for Fall!  I embellished with various Nestabilities die-cuts, button, thread, pearls, tag, etc. and a seam binding bow hand-dyed with some Scattered Straw Ranger distress reinker.  My cardstock and paper edges were also sponged with Antique Linen distress ink, using the Inkssentials Foam Blending tool, and my Non-Stick Craft Sheet.

Happy weekend!  Thanks for stopping by!

Flourishes New Release Day Five

Hi everyone! We hope you’ve enjoyed this week’s peeks from Flourishes and we are excited to say that all of the stamp sets that we’ve been showing off this week are in the Flourishes Store HERE!  And, instead of calling this last set a “peek” let’s just show it to you in its full glory!  Introducing Sentimental Favorites

Sentimental_Favorites-Web-WM

For a little while now, we’ve gotten requests to bring back an all-occasion stamp set that can fit the bill for a variety of different kinds of cards. Well, you spoke and we listened! That’s what Flourishes strives to do — make your card making fun and — easy! From Happy Birthday and Thank You creations to sympathy cards and notes of congratulations, this set has all the sentiments you need packed into 4”x6”. It will, no doubt, be a “go to” with all those beautifully scripted words!

My card today pairs one of the great new sentiments with another great image, the “fall” wreath from the Seasonal Wreaths stamp set…

FLLC101212

I took a quick trip to Archiver’s a few days ago and picked up this darling new 6x6 paper pad, Acorn Hollow from Little Yellow Bicycle, so I just had to use it for this card today (to justify my shopping excusion, of course!)  I stamped the wreath in Memento Rich Cocoa ink on Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock, and colored in the berries with the R46 Copic marker from the Dusty Rose collection, and used the G43 marker from the Pistachio collection on the tiny leaves.  The wreath was cut out with a Nestabilities circle and matted on a Picot Edge circle.  Then I stamped the sentiment (also with the Memento Rich Cocoa ink) and cut it out with the oblong die from the Classic Keyhole die set.  Finally I embellished with a little Ivory Crochet Trim and some chocolate Kaisercraft pearls.  A somewhat simple card, but I’m quite pleased with how it turned out… hope you like it, too!  :)

Would you like to win our new Sentimental Favorites stamp set? All you need to do is guess….
