Fall is in the Air

Hi everyone, and happy Friday! We have a fun treat for you today! Since Autumn was officially ushered in less than a week ago, we decided to pick up one of Flourishes’ sets that honors the season and our design team is all using it today in their creations! We’re talking about the set Falling Leaves
Falling-Leaves-370x550
Isn’t it a beauty? Even in black and white you can visualize the bold colors that will soon appear (and in some cases) are already appearing in real life! Below you’ll find a link list to all the fine designers on Flourishes Senior Design Team. But first, Flourishes is having a…..

And here’s my card for today, using some of that fabulous SALE paper… Song Bird from Prima!
FLLC092812
This card is what I call a Scrapling, because it’s made from the scrap that’s left behind when I make a 5” square card… it measures 3 1/2”x5 1/2”.  I used the Prima “Song Bird” papers for the leaves because I just love that Fall is all about colors and textures and patterns.  Each leaf was stamped with Versamark and Memento Tuxedo Black ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I also sponged Antique Linen distress ink on a lot of the edges, and stamped the sentiment from the Life Lines stamp set.  I embellished with some Chocolate Kaisercraft pearls on the upper right side.
Be sure to check out all the creativity whipped up by our design team today…
Thanks so much for stopping by!  Happy weekend, and happy stamping!

Color Throwdown #211

swatch 211
Hi everyone, and welcome to Wednesday and another Color Throwdown!  Wanda is our hostess this week, and she’s got a doozy of a challenge for you!  I’ll admit, I got a little carried away with these colors and took a lot of liberty… but I hope you’ll still give it a try!  That’s what a challenge is all about, right?
CTD211
I pulled out the Apple of My Eye stamp set from Flourishes for my card, stamping the apples on this text-style paper from the Farmhouse Paper Company Sugar Hill 6x6 paper pad with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and coloring with Copics from Flourishes Sweet Pea and Olive Green collections.  I sponged some Antique Linen distress ink inside the die-cut around the image, and embellished with this wide satin ribbon, and some Chocolate Kaisercraft pearls.
For plenty of inspiration with these colors, be sure to visit my Throwdown sisters at their blogs…

Happy Fall Pumpkins

eP092212
If you need some inspiration to get you crafting for Fall, head on over to eclectic Paperie and pick up some of the new Simple Stories “Harvest Lane” paper!  This 6x6 paper pad is FULL of some of the most fun patterns for Fall…. I guarantee it’ll put you in the Autumn-creation mood!  :)
I got these great pumpkins from Outlines Rubber Stamps last year, and I just love ‘em for paper piecing.  I stamped each pumpkin with Brilliance Graphite Black ink and embossed them with clear embossing powder before cutting out all the pieces.  Then I used the “Happy Fall” sentiment from the Sweetest Pumpkin in the Patch ala’ modes set from My Favorite Things and stamped it on a Fishtail Flags STAX Die-Namics.  I embellished with a button from the Mango Madness collection from eP, and tied it off with some ivory cotton string.  The layout for my card is from sketch #30 at Retro Sketches this week.
Happy stamping, and thanks for stopping by!

My card for today combines the Mojo Monday #259 sketch with stamps from the new Poinsettia & Pine set.  I used papers from the Bo Bunny Father Christmas paper pad, and several Nestabilities dies… the Picot Edge Circle, Deckle Edge Rectangles, and a flag from the Nested Pennants set.  I used my Silhouette Cameo and the Poinsettia & Pine digital cut file to cut out the pine and holly branch with Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock.  I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copics from the Pistachio, Leaf Green and Fuchsia collections.  I’m in LOVE with how this card turned out, and I hope you’ll like it, too!

Color Throwdown #210

swatch 210
Hey, hey, hey!  How are you today?  It’s time for another Color Throwdown, and this week I’m the hostess!  One of my co-workers often wears this adorable uniform scrub top and I just love the combination of colors so much.  I asked her to let me know next she was going to wear it, and I brought my camera to work and snapped a picture so we can create today with these colors!  Stop over at the Color Throwdown blog for all the challenge details!

I recently added this sweet Pure Innocence Giraffe Girl stamp set to my collection, and decided to get it inky for this card.  I know you usually see more of a yellow/gold color for giraffes but I improvised a little for the challenge.  The papers I used are some old My Mind’s Eye from my stash, and I used the Wednesday Sketch Challenge #89 from My Favorite Things for the layout.  Die-Namics used include the Fishtail Flags STAX and the Double Dot Border.
And here’s my simple addition to the inside of the card…

Kelsey had a Little Lamb…

Kelsey's thank you
My daughter Kelsey spent the Spring and Summer this year raising a market lamb.  It was sold last week at the livestock auction at our county fair (a sad day… the reality of it hit her pretty hard), and she needs some thank you notes to send to the buyer and a few other people.  Since I didn’t have any specific lambie stamps, I went in search of some digital images, and found this perfect little cutie in the Nature Babies set at Angels Landing.  I colored the lamb with Copics, cut it out and added some Simple Stories paper, and a Die-Namics Woodgrain Fence from My Favorite Things.  Then I used a stamp from the Thanks a Bunch stamp set on the red tag, and tied it to the fence with some Peapod Green Baker’s Twine from MFT.

That’s all for today!  Happy stamping!

Thanks for All that You Do

I needed a quick thank you card to send to my sister-in-law, so I pulled out some stamps and supplies from eclectic Paperie to create this baby…

eP091512

Using my 6 1/2” x 3 5/8” envelopes again as a guide, I created this long card using papers from the Authentique Lively collection.  I cut out the lined paper and the pink sentiment flag using my Fishtail Flags STAX Die-Namics from My Favorite Things.  The “Thanks…” sentiment is also from MFT, the Thanks a Bunch stamp set.  On the larger flag I stamped a script “thanks” definition from the Wplus9 Design Defining Words stamp set, then embellished the whole shebang with this fabulous Vintage Gauze Blossom from Maya Road, and some Kaisercraft clear rhinestones.

Super quick and easy…. happy stamping!

Here’s my card for today…
FLLC091412
I have had these envelopes for years that measure 6 1/2” x 3 5/8” and I love to create long cards that fit them, so a stamp that’s long like this one is perfectly suited to those envelopes.  I used some old Kaisercraft Christmas paper I had on hand for my design, and stamped the “peace” in Versamark on the designer paper, then embossed with silver superfine embossing powder.  I accented with some Snow White Kaisercraft pearls, and die-cut this poinsettia with more of the designer paper, accented with some glitter
